The Amazing, Affordable 2019 Genesis Lineup

Looking for an amazing, affordable luxury car? Surprise, it’s a Hyundai! Well, at least it used to be. Formerly known as the Hyundai Genesis, the new Genesis is now its own thing with three different models to choose from including the G70, G80, and G90. These Genesis models deliver the most value out of all luxury vehicles in their price range. When considering the best entry-level luxury sedans of the new model year, most people wouldn’t think about Hyundai, a South Korean-based automaker with a reputation for producing quality-yet-economical cars and SUVs. However, the new 2019 Genesis lineup is the real deal, offering all the goods from last year’s lineup but with a few new tweaks such as LED daytime running lights and HID headlights. Not only is the Hyundai Genesis refined in stylish, but it’s also powerful and immensely fun to drive. If you are interested in purchasing a 2019 Genesis, read on to learn more.

The Genesis G80 comes with either a 3.8-liter V6 engine or a 5.0-liter V8, and both versions of the Genesis can be equipped with all-wheel drive, making this one of the best full-size luxury sedans available. Both engines pack plenty of punch - the V6 generates 311 horsepower and 293 pound-feet of torque, while the V8 engine unleashes 420 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. Even with all-wheel drive, these rear-wheel-drive sedans are capable of beating most of their competitors from zero to 60 mph. Not only that, but the rear-wheel-drive adds an element of handling that’s absent from most other full-size sedans. The full-size Genesis G90 will offer a standard 3.3-liter V6, while the all-new G70 will offer this engine as optional. Standard with the compact G70 is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

The new Genesis comes with a satisfying number of high-end features. On the outside, the sedan gets 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, auto dimming, and leveling HID headlights, heated mirrors, and automatic wipers. A rearview camera comes standard, as does an 8-inch in-dash touchscreen with smartphone integration features. Comfort features include heated and powered 12-way adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. And those aren’t the only reasons for this lineup being among the best luxury sedans of 2019! The Genesis G80 also has cruise control, navigation, and real-time traffic alerts. A seven-speaker CD system with HD radio, satellite radio, and auxiliary/USB ports allow for customized entertainment, and many of the controls can be managed over the touchscreen or with the car’s built-in Bluetooth compatibility.

Equipped with the V8 engine, the Genesis also offers 19-inch alloy wheels, improved suspension, and more refined interior trims. The V8 Genesis also gets the Signature and Technology packages, which both add numerous features to the already loaded sedan. Some of the features added by the Premium package include a panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitoring, ventilated front seats and a premium 14-speaker sound system. It’s easily one of the most stylish luxury sedans available now. The Tech package requires the purchase of the Signature package and adds features such as automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and upgraded leather upholstery.  When purchasing the Ultimate package you’ll get a 9.2-inch touchscreen, a heads-up display, leather upholstery, and a multi-angle camera. Similar packages can also be purchased for the Genesis G70 and G90. The Sport trims adds many standard features including the heads-up display, a 17-speaker premium audio system (or 15 speakers in the G70), and sports seats.

While the 2019 Hyundai Genesis lineup is fun and luxurious, it also has a practical side. When equipped with the V6, the Genesis has EPA ratings of 19 city/27 mpg highway, while the V8 Genesis is rated at 15 city/23 mpg highway, both of which are decent when compared with other large, powerful sedans. Both Genesis models are also loaded with safety features even in their base trims, and additional safety features such as rear cross-traffic alerts only sweeten the deal. If you’re on the market for a new luxury sedan that will knock your socks off without blowing up your bank account - and you want something that will also be practical for everyday family use - then the 2019 Genesis might be just what you’re looking for.
